Natural gas is safe, reliable and domestically produced. Westshore Landings will include three highly-efficient natural gas appliances that are expected to reduce the carbon footprint of each home by more than two tons per year, compared to the typical all-electric home of the same size. When natural gas is consumed directly in the home, more than 90% of the energy value is used. By contrast, more than 50% of the energy value of natural gas is wasted when it is used to generate and distribute electricity.

Each home within the Westshore Landings community will include:

· Space-saving natural gas tankless water heater to serve continuous hot water when the solar water heater can not.

· Hydronic space heating system that utilizes the solar/tankless water heating system to efficiently heat the home.

· Gas range that offers the precision temperature control that most cooks prefer. The range can be lit manually to allow cooking during power outages.

· Connection for a gas clothes dryer. Home buyers can install their own dryer of choice, including a quick and cost-efficient natural gas dryer.
