CU Housing Partners (CUHP) is a limited liability company (LLC) formed in 2003 to harness the strength of credit unions in order to provide affordable housing opportunities to members and potential members. CUHP offers homeownership counseling and helps individuals learn about affordable and other credit union mortgage products. By working with the Circle of Preferred Lenders among our credit union partners, community groups, developers, builders, local, state and federal government departments, CUHP is committed to seeking partnerships that make homeownership accessible for all.

Having received initial funding and support from the National Credit Union Foundation, CUHP has built a solid organization that is supported by several credit union partners, and seeks to increase the credit union coalition for affordable and attainable housing.


Create synergy within the credit union industry and communities to facilitate affordable housing opportunities for families and individuals of low and modest income.


CUHP's primary objective is to build relationships that are relevant to the mission and to foster dynamic referral interaction which ultimately helps credit union members and individuals within the community achieve homeownership.


To become a leader in identifying, coordinating and securing affordable housing opportunities that can be underwritten by credit unions, ultimately serving credit union members and individuals within the community. This is being achieved by establishing partnerships with builders, community organizations, government agencies and developers. CUHP engages in housing endeavors that effectively respond to the growing demand for affordable housing. In addition, CUHP certified housing counselor(s) coach and guide members and individuals in the community who meet low to modest income requirements to overcome the financial hurdles presented in the quest to achieve homeownership.


CUHP provides one-on-one services for potential homeowners by offering:
  • Membership with the appropriate credit union partner, based upon eligibility requirements
  • Basic financial counseling;
  • Homeownership coaching;
  • Mortgage products through partners in the Circle of Preferred Lenders
  • Introductory classes for the first-time home buyers
  • Commercial residential development loans for developers and builders arranged through partners in the Circle of Preferred Lenders for the creation of affordable housing

One-on-one, family and group financial counseling services are provided to credit union members and the community through our offices. This includes basic budgeting, credit report analysis and household financial planning toward homeownership. Our goal is to assist you in the development of financial wealth building through credit worthiness.


One-on-one, family and group homeownership advisory services are provided to empower potential homeowners with the resources necessary to make an informed decision regarding housing needs. This entails a personal financial analysis, mortgage readiness analysis, advisement regarding the homeownership process from pre-purchase to post-purchase. Referral assistance to various city and county down payment assistance programs within the State of Florida, homeownership education class referrals, and information regarding affordable NEW home developments will be provided upon request.


CUHP's Circle of Preferred Lenders offer competitive mortgage products for those who desire to become homeowners. Regardless of your credit score, we may be able to fashion a mortgage loan to meet your needs.
